Northern

The Northern Chapter encompasses a large geographical area that runs from the Quebec border to the Manitoba border and, from the Muskoka’s to Hudson’s Bay. Due to our immense area and travel constraints we are limited to a Spring Meeting and then meet again at the Annual APSAO Fall Conference. The Spring Meeting is usually held in Sudbury for those who can attend in person and the rest of our chapter members are teleconferenced. Although APSWs are housed in a variety of agencies [ACLs, Generic Services, Children Services and Mental Health agencies] we all offer the same services.

South East

The South East Chapter of Adult Protective Services Association is located from Oshawa in the east, to the Quebec border excluding northern areas. Renfrew and Ottawa fall within our geographic area.

We follow the Goals as set out by APSAO which are mainly:
* to provide a professional support system for APSW’s
* to provide a mechanism for advocacy on behalf of our clients by lobbying on a provincial level and liaising with other committees and associations.

Individually (within our sponsoring) agencies, we provide case management, counseling, and advocacy services for persons with a developmental disability as defined by the Ministry of Community and Social Services Guidelines. There is variation in how service are provided and program title but roles and funding are ultimately determined by MCCSS.

It is often difficult for us to connect but we do so at an annual spring conference event. This is an excellent training opportunity at little or no expense, usually open to members and non-members.

South West

The South West Chapter of APSAO meets on a quarterly basis. Meetings are held in Woodstock at the Welkin at 912 Dundas Street. Our meetings are intended to provide a forum for networking, discussion, information sharing and planning relating to services for adults with developmental disabilities who are living independently in the community. Designated representatives from the South West Chapter bring the concerns of the Chapter to the Executive of APSAO.

There are regular meetings throughout the year. All APSW's working in the South West Region of Ontario are invited to attend.
